About the Journal

Aims & Scope

Nature Cell and Science publishes comprehensive reviews, clinical insights, and perspective articles that highlight the intersection of chemical biology, immunology, and translational medicine.

We prioritize manuscripts that do not merely summarize literature but provide critical analysis of mechanisms and clinical potential. Our scope includes, but is not limited to:

  • Cancer Immunotherapy: Next-generation checkpoint inhibitors, in situ vaccination strategies, and modulation of the tumor microenvironment (TME).
  • Chemical Biology in Medicine: The application of PROTACs, molecular glues, and chemical reprogramming technologies (e.g., SuFEx click chemistry) for therapeutic interventions.
  • Cellular Reprogramming: Genetic and chemical approaches to alter cell fate, including converting tumor cells into antigen-presenting cells.
  • Translational Technologies: Gene editing, synthetic biology, and novel drug delivery systems that overcome physiological barriers.

We welcome submissions from global authors who can articulate how molecular discoveries solve clinical bottlenecks.

Nature Cell and Science’s mission statement

Bridging the Gap Between Discovery and Clinical Practice.

In an era of exponential data growth, the gap between basic biological discovery and clinical application is widening. Nature Cell and Science (NC&S) is an independent, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to closing this “translational gap.”

Our mission is to democratize access to elite science. We synthesize complex breakthroughs—from chemical reprogramming and targeted protein degradation to next-generation immunotherapy—into accessible, high-impact reviews. We empower clinicians, researchers, and biotechnologists by decoding the mechanisms that define the future of medicine, ensuring that top-tier science translates into tangible patient benefits.

Disclaimer: Nature Cell and Science is an independent publication. It is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Springer Nature Limited, Elsevier B.V., or the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

Publication Frequency

Nature Cell and Science operates on a continuous publication model.

  • Online First: Articles are published online immediately after passing peer review and final production, ensuring rapid dissemination of knowledge.
  • Quarterly Compilation: Articles published within a calendar quarter are compiled into a quarterly issue for citation and archival purposes.

Revenue Source

To ensure the widest possible dissemination of knowledge, Nature Cell and Science is an Open Access journal.

Article Processing Charges (APCs): The journal is funded primarily through APCs paid by authors or their institutions upon acceptance. This fee covers the costs of peer review, professional editing, illustration refinement, and server maintenance.

Advertising & Sponsorship: We accept limited, clearly marked advertisements from biotechnology and pharmaceutical partners. Advertising is strictly separated from editorial decision-making; sponsors have no influence over content selection or the peer review process.

Wavers: We offer APC waivers or discounts for authors from low-income countries to foster global scientific equity.

Abstracting and Indexing

We are committed to the discoverability of our authors’ work. Nature Cell and Science is currently indexed or in the process of application for the following databases:

Google Scholar (Indexed)

Crossref (DOIs assigned to all articles)

Pending Applications: Scopus, PubMed Central (PMC), and EMBASE.
